Messages is triConvey's secure messaging and file-sharing system.  Whether you are a triConvey customer, or a client receiving messages from their lawyer, the Communicate mobile app will allow you to have access to any securely shared messages or files.

Getting Started

The mobile app that powers Messages is referred to as the Communicate mobile app.




Set up the mobile app

1.    Download and install the Communicate mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Tip:  When downloading the Apps, please be aware that you will be downloading the Smokeball Communicate App with your triConvey account.



2.    Open the app and select Sign in.

  • If you are a triConvey user, select sign in with triConvey and log in using your triConvey login credentials.
  • Non-triConvey users will need to follow the steps to verify their identity with their email and phone number for log-in access.



Update your login preferences

To make logging in more secure:


1.    Select the three vertical dots from the top-right corner of the app.


2.    Select Security from the bottom of the app where you can enable passcode lock, Face ID or fingerprint login.


Manage conversations

1.    Select the three lines from the top-left of the app to access conversations.

2.    Select the conversation to open.

Tip:  If you are a triConvey user, you can also start a new conversation by selecting the + icon.



3.    To reply to a message, type in your response in the message box and select Send.


4.    To add files and attachments from your mobile device, select the paperclip icon.

Tip:  The Communicate Mobile App includes conversations from all Channels, Direct Messages, External Conversations, Internal Matter Conversations and your Firm Inbox from external triConvey users.  If you want to share triConvey files, use the triConvey Desktop App.




View shared files

1.    From within a conversation, select the Files tab at the top of the screen.

2.    A list of files shared in the conversation will appear. 


3.    Select the file to access a quick preview or select the message icon to add a comment to the file.




Pin a message

You can bookmark an important message to view in your Pinned tab by holding the message and selecting Pin.



Set up reminders from within a conversation

Reminders can only be set up from the Communicate Mobile App by triConvey customers.  Clients of triConvey customers will not be able to use this feature from the App.


1.    Select the conversation you want to set a reminder for.


2.    Select and hold any message and then select Remind Me.
