Getting Started

If you wish to automate repetitive tasks for specific matters, use Workflows.



triConvey Desktop App

1.    From a Matter or the Home Dashboard Action Bar, select Task.

Tip:  Make sure if you are creating tasks from the Home Dashboard to assign an appropriate Matter.

2.    Enter information in the following fields:


  • Name: the name of the task.

  • Priority (optional):  the urgency of the task (Urgent, High, Medium, Low or None).

  • Assigned to: select one or more staff members.

  • Categories (Optional): create custom categories by typing it out and then pressing the Enter key on your keyboard.

  • Due: due date of the task. Select the drop-down arrow next to the calendar icon to select from a list of predetermined dates.

  • Reminders (Optional): set up reminders to trigger before the due date. Learn more about setting up reminders below.

  • Matter: the matter the task is relevant for. If you are creating a task from a matter, the matter will be tagged by default.

  • Details (Optional): any notes you want to leave for the assignee about the task.

  • Duration (Optional): enter an estimated duration for AutoTime entries. The best practice is often to leave this blank and manually enter the appropriate time later.


3.    Link documents or precedent templates to the task by selecting Link to a Document.


4.    Add sub-tasks by typing in the text field and selecting the + icon or pressing Enter on your keyboard.


5.    Select the Notes tab to add status comments to the task and see the history of the task over time.


6.    Select Save.

Tip:  All tasks will appear in the Tasks tab of a matter. Use the filters on the left side to change what tasks you can view.



7.    You can also access Tasks from the left panel of triConvey or the Daily Digest.



View tasks associated with a workflow

1.    Right-click on the grey column headers and select Workflow.



Set up task reminders

To help stay on top of upcoming tasks in triConvey, you can set up reminders to trigger days, weeks, or months before. You can apply reminders to any tasks associated with Workflows as well.


1.    Select add a reminder from a task.


2.    Assign reminder recipients and select when they should receive a reminder to complete the task.


3.    Reminders will appear as a pop-up window in triConvey, containing a list of all task and calendar event reminders. Access them at any time from the bell icon on the top bar.

Tip:  Reminders will pop up even when you are not in triConvey, helping you stay on top of important tasks and events.



Good to know

  • If you are using AutoTime, the user who completes the task will see the task appear on the entry.
  • To keep track of tasks created in triConvey, whether assigned to you or other staff members, use the Tasks View.




triConvey Companion Site Web App

1.    Open a Matter and select the Tasks tab.


2.    Select Add Task.


3.    Complete the following fields:


  • Name of the Task: what you need to get done.
  • Matter: the matter the task is relevant for. If you create a task from a matter, the matter will be tagged by default.
  • Due: select a due date.
  • Assigned to: select a staff member. You can assign a task to multiple people.


4.    Complete these optional fields: 


  • Categories: select an existing category or create one by typing in the field. 
  • Details: any specific notes you want to leave yourself about the task. 


5.    Select Save. Select Save & New if you wish to create consecutive Tasks. 


6.    The task will appear in the Tasks tab of your matter and on the global Tasks view.



Filter tasks

1.    Use the filters on the left side to change what tasks you can view. 


2.    Sort tasks by name, category, due date, completion date, responsible staff member, and date of task creation.



Edit and complete tasks

1.    Select a task in the global view or within a matter to open the Edit Task window. 


2.    Mark a task as Complete using the provided toggle.


3. Mark multiple Tasks as complete using the checkboxes provided in the global Tasks view or within an individual matter's Tasks tab.
