The scan emails tool is an option in Outlook that automatically scans your Outlook inbox and validate emails that are linked to matters in triConvey. This tool will assist in attaching emails that may look like they are linked to a matter in Outlook but are not linked in triConvey.


This tool aims to help you resolve the issues where emails were not tagged to matters correctly after a recent issue with Outlook.

How to access the tool

The Scan Email tool can be found by right-clicking on any folder within your Outlook mail account.


Once you select triConvey - Scan Emails... a box will appear allowing you to select multiple filter options about the following:

  • What email folders do you want to scan?
  • What date range of emails do you want to scan?


Try and select specific folders for the tool to run more efficiently. Once you select the appropriate folders and date range, click Scan on the bottom right of the window.




Important Notes

  • When running this tool, Outlook will become unresponsive for some time so consider running this tool after hours or overnight.

  • Large inboxes may render Outlook unusable while the scan tool is running. Do not attempt to force-close Outlook.

  • Once the tool is complete, it will show a summary of how many emails were scanned and corrected.
